Callers may access Word Messaging Devices using one of several methods:

  1. Metrocall's "Send-A-Message" Web page at www.metrocall.com, or
  2. Any Internet e-mail service can send a message to a Metrocall word messaging device, using the following addressing scheme: "ten digit messaging device number@page.metrocall.com".
  3. If the Metrocall subscriber has operator dispatch service, the Word Messaging Device can accessed by dialing the messaging device number directly and dictating a complete message to a live operator at the national dispatch center, or
  4. Callers may also conveniently access Word messaging device users with Metrocall's text messaging software and a Hayes or compatible modem. Text messaging software is available in an IBM, Macintosh, and DOS versions or

Metrocall's nationwide messaging service covers the top 100 standard metropolitan statistical areas across the continental United States and Alaska and Hawaii. Metrocall's nationwide network is divided into six regions, allowing the customer to choose the coverage and price that best meets his or her travel needs. You can choose to receive your service in one region, two regions or, if you wish, the entire nation. Metrocall nationwide regions are as follows:
